Almost every contract I’ve worked on in the past few years include the backing programming languages for the MS products I’ve worked on. Is the backbone to making applications operate seamlessly. Also will use it to be a front end for real databases like MS/SQL, Oracle, and mySQL. |
PHP | 2 | 5 | Solo Projects, Study, Websites. | Database Interface, functions. | the scripting of choice when having to do any sort of calculation or database calls. Have used this for my last 5 web projects, both volunteer and paying. Can do all database calls and updates using html forms, and can keep the server side from calling other pages to finish processes |
mySQL | 2 | 4.5 | Solo Projects, Study. | all SQL aspets | Using this as the db of choice when doing web projects with PHP. All my recent website builds have used this as the database. |
Cold Fusion |

Study, |
Many of the basic CFML tags and some others |
Am self teaching myself this one. Already understand the basics on how this works, through SQL calls to create nice front end apps from data stored in either Access, Oracle, text files, or MSSQL server. One of the sites I am constructing on big-doggy.com is CF driven. Also know that if you can build with this, javascript does not need to be learned. It does it for you. |

memory/ board swapping, disaster recovery. | Hardware of choice. Started building my own systems back at the advent of the 486DX33. Unafraid of looking inside and swapping boards/memory/motherboards, though the results can be unpredictable at times. Only worked on the software side of the PC at the companies listed. All H/W has been on my own system. Have built two other systems. |
Apple |
1 | 2.5 | Apple C | Chooser, running Excel 97 | Can't say that I used this system much after the initial Apple II+. The system I used here was a GS3. |
Windows 9x, ME, XP | 10 | 5 | All except AAPL | Keyboard shortcuts, msconfig, sysedit, regedit, Device Mgr, and other diagnostics. | More of a power user who can do some system administrative duties. Not lost |
UNIX/Linux | 2 | 3 | EDS, AMAT | Operator commands, . crontabs, security |

NBSPOOL | 2 | 1 | COMS | One of a few spooling programs I worked with. Also had limited exposure it's cohort, NETBASE.
MPE | 7 | 3 | EDS, AMAT, COMS | O/S for HP3000. Know how to check spooled files, jobs, users on, can cool and warmstart and do system shutdowns.
QEDIT | 4 | 4 | COMS | Text file manipulation of different utility programs (putting them together to generate reports)
ADAGER | 2 | 1 | COMS, EDS | Knew that this was the dataset compression program that could only be run with no one in any database
QUIZ (Powerhouse) | 2 | 1 | COMS | Was part of three programs. This one you could use SQL select commands to look at data in any database. The others were QUICK, and a viewer that I don't remember the name of.
MPEiX (VEESOFT) | 5 | 2 | COMS, EDS |
Used this to monitor status of jobs and to manipulate the rank on how much resource each job or print job got. |
|
JOBRSQ | 6 | 3 | COMS, EDS | Another monitoring tool that I utilized when batch jobs failed.
